Naomi Turbin will tell us about life in Israel at the Spiritual Cafe on Sunday, May 6 at 6:30 pm. She will be speaking about the Holy Land, current events, Judaism, and her personal experience living in Israel.
A potluck dinner will be served.
Come learn about the land where Jesus walked, taught and lived.

March For Babies

Moms in the MOPS group that meets at Christ Presbyterian Church will walk 5 miles on May 5th to raise funds to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Maundy Thursday meal and worship

So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, ‘Go and prepare the Passover meal for us that we may eat it.’ – Luke 22:8

Come to this worship service, Thursday, April 5th, at 6 PM, and connect with the people who escaped from slavery in Egypt, connect with the twelve apostles when they celebrated the Passover meal with Jesus, connect with the whole church and deepen your appreciation of the Lord’s Supper.

Jesus eats with the twelve disciples in the upper room.

Jesus said to them, ‘I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you

  • This event includes a light meal.
  • The service includes activities appropriate for children of all ages.
  • Please bring a wine glass from your home for each person.
  • Please contact our church office to reserve a place for your family.

Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. — Luke 22:19-20

Bunny Breakfast

Every child leaves with a photo with the Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny will visit Christ Church
on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 from 9-11 am.

Doughnuts, orange juice, and milk or coffee will be served.

All children and their parents/grandparents may have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. All children will receive a printed photograph before they leave and another may requested by email. In addition to pictures children can make crafts, participate in an Easter Egg Hunt, win door prizes, and eat some yummy donuts. A $3 donation will be requested.

Children hunting for over 2,000 eggs will be separated into three age groups.

No reservations needed.

2 “Golden Eggs” will have a special prize!

Free Tax Preparation by AARP

CalculatorAAPR is offering free income tax preparation for elderly and low-income residents in the Winfield-Crown Point area. In conjunction with the IRS, free e-filing service will be available for qualifying tax returns.

AARP volunteer tax counselors have been trained and certified to IRS standards.

Tax returns will be prepared at Christ Presbyterian Church, 7416 East 109th Avenue, Winfield, Indiana, Monday and Wednesday mornings February 2, 2011 through April 13, 2011.

To make an appointment, call the church office at 219-663-0129 on Monday through Thursday, 9am to 1pm.

No walk-ins.

Chili Supper

The Annual Chili Supper will be held on Saturday, January 21 from 5-7 pm. The donation for the dinner will be $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 6-12 years and free for children under the age 5 years old. The proceeds from this dinner will go to support the mission of Christ Presbyterian Church.

We Do Diapers

Upon learning that mothers of infants and toddlers often requested diapers from the Winfield Township Trustee’s Office, the Deacons  decided to focus their August mission project on providing packages for local distribution.

This project  is one of many tangible reflections of the the love of God experienced by this congregation.

Supporting our Service Members

Fisher House receives Check

Janelle Dyer presents check from Deacons to Vivan Wilson of Fisher House

Janelle Dyer of Lakes of the Four Seasons presented a $500 check on behalf of the Deacons to Vivian Wilson to support the Landstuhl German Fisher Houses and 9 baby blankets and 9 prayer shawls to Army Chaplain Major David Kirk from Landsthul Medical Center. The baby blankets and shawls were prayerfully knitted by participants of the prayer shawl ministry.

Janelle was in Germany in November visiting family.

The two Landstuhl Fisher Houses provide a “home away from home” for families and patients receiving medical care at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany.

LRMC is the largest US hospital and the only level one trauma center outside the United States. It serves members of the military, their families, DOD civilians, contractors, and coalition service members. Each month LRMC treats 700 to 800 injured personnel and delivers 80 babies.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 10th, 9 am – 11 am

For a $3 donation, each person receives a donut and juice, milk, or coffee.

Children will make crafts and get a color photo with Santa to take home and a digital copy to share with friends and family.

Avoid the long lines and enjoy a relaxing time with your family and neighbors!
